Isolation of the aldobionic acid of umbilical cord hyaluronic acid.

چکیده
In a preliminary note there was outlined the isolation of a crystalline glucuronido-glucosamine disaccharide, designated hyalobiuronic acid, from umbilical cord hyaluronate by combined enzymatic and partial mineral acid hydrolysis (1). In subsequent articles the use of this compound as a basis for structural work on the polysaccharide and as a reference point for interpretation of enzymatic dat.a will be described. Here, it is desired to amplify the earlier account of the isolation and characterization of the disaccharide, to offer evidence of its homogeneity, and to describe briefly its production by other methods.

Evaluation of Neurogenic Potential of Human Umbilical Cord Mesenchymal Cells a Time- and Concentration- Dependent Manner
Background: Retinoic acid as one of the most important regulators for cell differentiation was examined in this study for differentiation of human umbilical mesenchymal cells (hUCM). Methods: After isolation, hUCM were evaluated for mesenchymal stem cell properties by flow cytometry and alkaline phosphatase assay. Also, doubling time of the cells and their differentiation potential into adipoge...
متن کاملPreparation and some properties of hyaluronic acid from umbilical cord of the pig.
Within the last 13 years hyaluronic acid has been isolated from a variety of sources (1): umbilical cord, vitreous humor, synovial fluid, tumors, and hemolytic streptococci. These mucopolysaccharides all have essentially the same chemical composition, equimolecular portions of acetylglucosamine and glucuronic acid, but vary greatly in viscosity. Hyaluronic acid was first isolated by Meyer and P...
متن کاملA New Two Step Induction Protocol for Neural Differentiation of Human Umbilical Cord Blood-Derived Mesenchymal Stem Cells
Background: In this study, we examined a new two step induction protocol for improving the differentiation of human umbilical cord blood-derived mesenchymal stem cells into neural progenitor cells. Materials and Methods: Human umbilical cord blood-derived mesenchymal stem cells were first cultured in Dulbecco’s modified eagle medium supplemented with 10% fetal bovine serum in a humidified incu...
متن کاملThe Sulfated Mucopolysaccharides Human Umbilical Cord*
Umbilical cord was shown to contain chondroitin sulfate B and a small amount of glucosamine-containing sulfated mucopolysaccharide, in addition to hyaluronic acid and chondroitin sulfate C. All of the hyaluronic acid and part of the chondroitin sulfate C could be extracted directly with dilute sodium chloride; the rest of the chondroitin sulfate C and the chondroitin sulfate B were released onl...
متن کاملCo-culture of Umbilical Cord-derived Hematopoietic and Mesenchymal Stem Cells on Protein-Coated poly-L-Lactic Acid Nanoscaffolds
Background and purpose: Umbilical cord blood (UCB) is a source of Hematopoietic stem cells (HSCs) and has received a lot of attention due to its availability, renewal capacity, proliferation rate, and differentiation potential. The main limitation of using these cells is their low quantity in one unite of UCB. To overcome this, HSCs co-culturing with UCB derived mesenchymal cells (MSCs) is a pr...
